High alert for all flat/house owners, gang of thieves trying to enter homes posing as government officials

New Delhi : A circular issued by the managing committee of a housing society in Delhi warning residents about a gang of thieves posing as government officials trying to enter homes.
The latest theft technique used by thieves, they go door to door. They carry the seal and letterhead of the Ministry of Home Affairs and claim to ensure that everyone has more identity cards for the census.
The letter claims that thieves have come up with a new way to enter houses by pretending to be from Ministry of Home Affairs employees conducting a survey under the Ayushman scheme and want to take your photo/fingerprint.
They have laptops, biometrics machines and data lists of device names like government officials. They will show you all the data list names and ask for more information. It’s all a scam.
Circular issued warns people to not let any stranger enter into their house even if they show a government ID.
