Chandigarh : Haryana will commence the procurement of Kharif pulses and oilseeds, including moong, groundnut, arhar, urad, and til, starting from October 1, 2024.
The procurement schedule outlines that Moong will be procured from October 1 to November 15, followed by Groundnut from November 1 to December 31. Additionally, Arhar, Urad, and Til will be procured from December 1 to December 31.
The Chief Secretary, Dr. T.V.S.N. Prasad today reviewed the preparations for the procurement of crops for the 2024-25 marketing season and directed officials to ensure a smooth and hassle-free procurement process for farmers.
Dr. Prasad emphasized the need to procure crops promptly and to make adequate arrangements for storage and gunny bags at the mandis.
Haryana is expecting a bumper production of Kharif crops this year, with an estimated production of 27197 metric tonnes of moong, 238 MT of arhar, 85 MT of urad, 471 MT of til, and 9668 MT of groundnut.
The procurement will be carried out at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) announced by the Government of India. HAFED will also participate in the procurement process.
Additional Chief Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Dr. Sumita Misra , Additional Chief Secretary, Cooperation, Sh. Ankur Gupta,Additional Chief Secretary of finance & Planning, Anurag Rastogi, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Dr. Raja Sekhar Vundru and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
