Mohali : The Sophies Club, Department of Philosophy at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, held an On-the-Spot Poster Making Competition on the theme ‘Tribute to Dr. Radhakrishnan: The Philosopher and Teacher’. The competition envisioned to celebrate the life of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and inspire the youth to learn from it. In total, 32 students participated in the competition, using their creativity to depict various aspects of the life of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and his imperative role as a teacher and philosopher. and they were judged based on the creativity, relevance to the topic and overall presentation. Cash prizes were awarded to the first three position holders.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava lauded this initiative of the Philosophy Department to educate students about the exemplary personality that Dr. Radhakrishnan was. She added that despite all his accomplishments and contributions, Dr. Radhakrishnan remained a teacher throughout his life as he firmly believed in the role of teachers as nation builders.
