Chandigarh : The weather in Punjab and Chandigarh has changed in a few days. Light frost has started in the morning and evening. It is definitely hot during the day though. Along with this, a drop of 0.3 degrees in the maximum temperature was recorded in the last 24 hours. Maximum and minimum temperatures have been recorded in all the districts. The maximum temperature in Punjab was recorded at Faridkot at 34.0 degrees.
Along with this, the temperature is below 34 degrees in 12 districts. These districts include Amritsar, Ludhiana, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, SBS Nagar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Moga and Mohali.
According to the experts of the Meteorological Department, the reason for the change in temperature is the Western Disturbance which was active in Jammu and Kashmir on the one hand. Due to this, the temperature has fallen in the adjoining areas of Jammu and Himachal Pradesh. Also, the minimum temperature is below 21 degrees in all the districts. Pathankot recorded the lowest temperature of 17.1 degrees. While 19.8 degree has been recorded in Chandigarh.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is no chance of rain till October 24. Also, the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to remain almost normal. Similarly, in the month of October, the state has received 2.4 mm of rain so far. While 4.0 mm of rain falls during these days. In such a situation, there has been 39 percent less rain so far.
